Hi, I’m Ellie Halili, and I’m originally from Northern California. I currently attend the University of Nevada, Reno, where I am majoring in Marketing and Management. I chose this major because it gives me the flexibility to explore many different career paths while also allowing me to apply one of the things I value most: creativity. I have always been passionate about art and creative expression, so marketing felt like the perfect field for me because it blends strategy, communication, and design in a way that can be both practical and imaginative.
Outside of school, I work at The Vitamin Shoppe in Reno, where I have grown professionally and developed strong leadership skills. I was originally hired as a Sales Lead, advanced to a Key Holder position, and I am now the employee with the highest seniority in my store. In my role, I help divide daily tasks among team members, support store operations, and work closely with other health enthusiasts to create a productive and welcoming environment. My experience in the workforce has shown me that, in addition to being creative, I am also well suited for management and leadership positions because I enjoy organization, responsibility, and helping a team succeed.
In addition to my retail work, I also babysit and nanny two young boys, which has strengthened my patience, adaptability, communication skills, and sense of responsibility. Balancing school, work, and caregiving has taught me how to manage my time well and stay dependable in different kinds of environments.
I am also involved in Greek life, which has given me opportunities to build friendships, strengthen my communication skills, and become more involved in my community. Being part of Greek life has helped me grow socially and professionally by teaching me how important teamwork, leadership, and connection are in both personal and professional settings.
Looking ahead, I am interested in careers that allow me to combine my creative abilities with my growing experience in business and leadership. I am especially drawn to roles in marketing, branding, creative strategy, and management, where I can use both artistic thinking and practical problem-solving. My long-term goal is to build a career that allows me to keep learning, take on leadership opportunities, and make a meaningful impact through both creativity and collaboration.
